    DONATIONS & FUNDRAISING

 KELLY SCHOOL BOOK DRIVE

~~10,000 Books Project at Kelly School:

Once again we are collecting books for the Kelly School summer reading project. Watch the Bulletin for suggested titles and authors. Volunteers will be needed in May and June of 2012 to help organize the book giveaway. Ongoing volunteer opportunities in book shelving, repairing, process and cataloging though not directly involved with the 10,000 Books Project, would assist in furthering the efforts to increase literacy among the Kelly student population.

OUR SHOWERS FOR SHELTERS PROJECT

We wish you a warm and happy Valentines Day!
And ask you to open your hearts to others this Valentines Day by providing bus tickets for the residents of
The Bradley Angle House
The Raphael House
YWCA Yolanda House Domestic Violence Shelter

Bus tickets allow residents of these shelters to get to medical care, jobs, and school.

Please join us in this campaign to help these adults and children become more independent.

Your contribution of $24 buys an adult bus ticket packet.
Your contribution of $15 buys a child/student bus ticket packet.

(100% of your tax-deductable donation is used to buy bus tickets!)

Please make your checks payable to NCJW, Portland Section and mail your donations to our Section PO Box.

Thank you!
Our Showers for Shelters Project was the brainchild of Joyce Singer and Sue Overbeck z"l. It began with our asking area domestic violence shelters what we could do for them that is a hardship for them to provide because of budgetary constraints.

--TRANSPORTATION was their answer!!

This is why we have adopted the tradition of our Valentine Fundraiser. With these funds we are able to help these women and children get the mobility they need to get on with their lives.

We hope you will participate, every packet of 10 tickets we can buy is greatly appreciated. (Unfortunately Tri-Met will not discount).

Women in these shelters do have other needs, which is why we also solicit Tribute Donations, which we use to buy gift cards at Fred Meyer and distribute to the shelters to help with personal needs.
