The National Council of Jewish Women, Portland Oregon Section, is a volunteer organization dedicated to advocacy and community service to improve the quality of life for families, and work toward individual rights and freedoms for all.
For over 100 years, NCJW Portland has served people of all backgrounds through education, advocacy and community service. Our projects, inspired by Jewish values and traditions, are focused on women, children and families.
Established in Chicago in 1893, NCJW is the oldest women's volunteer organization in the United States. There are 109 sections in 34 states and the District of Columbia. NCJW has 47 affiliates worldwide called the International Council of Jewish Women. The Portland Oregon Section, founded in 1896, has approximately 300 members.
